Three University of Guam undergraduates each just steps away from graduation were awarded $500 Whippy Family Last Mile Scholarships, surrounded by their families who came out to show their love and support as these students prepare to walk the stage at this Sunday’s Fall Commencement.

The awards were presented by former UOG Senior Vice President Helen Whippy, wife of late UOG Coach James Whippy, with her son also in attendance.

Created for students with financial need who are within 30 credits of completing their first bachelor’s degree, this scholarship helps ensure that, with a strong support system behind them, no student has to face the final stretch alone.
