We’re proud to recognize Ivan as a recipient of the Mobil Oil Guam STEM Last Mile Scholarship, an award supporting students who are making a meaningful impact as they complete their STEM degrees 👏 This scholarship embodies ExxonMobil’s enduring commitment to investing in the communities where it operates and empowering the next generation of innovators, problem solvers, and leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Ivan is a senior civil engineering student at the University of Guam whose time at UOG has been defined by research, leadership, and service. He has contributed to multiple NASA and NSF/NSA-funded research projects, including MATLAB-based modeling of recycled plastic–modified concrete under the mentorship of Dr. Ernesto Guades. In addition, Ivan has served as a teaching assistant and math tutor, supporting fellow students in math and civil engineering courses.
