Scholarships

The UOG Endowment Foundation is proud to provide over $15,000 a year in student scholarships for various programs. The following is a list of scholarships that are available for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Students are encouraged to read the scholarship requirements carefully before applying to ensure their application is accurate and complete. Please check back occasionally, as some scholarships become available at various times throughout the year, and all may not be shown on this list at the current time.

Students must fill out the application form or email our offices for a copy at info@uogendowment.org, and submit it along with a copy of their transcripts and any supplemental materials required by the scholarship guidelines, to the UOG Endowment Foundation offices by the application deadline. Supplemental materials may include letters of recommendations, essay, or any other component listed in the description. Students are welcome to contact the UOG Endowment Foundation if they have any questions about scholarship eligibility requirements or application requirements.

Scholarships Available

Cerila M. Rapadas Scholarship

Background Information:
Cerila M. Rapadas worked tirelessly along with social workers and other social service caregivers at Catholic Social Service for over 20 years.  She provided leadership, guidance, and mentorship to dozens of her co-workers over the years as they provided respectful and dignified care to hundreds of clients who were in need of basic, humanitarian attention and love.  Mrs. Rapadas and her family are humbled and heartened to offer this modest scholarship to aid a future social services professional in their education and development. They hope that as the recipients go forward and complete their studies, the recipients would choose to serve Guam’s most needy and vulnerable populations.



Award Amount: 
$500 

Eligibility Requirements: 
Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student in the Social Work program or closely related field. Applicant must be a resident of Guam, and intend to work and stay on Guam after completing their degree. Must have a minimum GPA  of 3.0, and maintain that average throughout the scholarship period.

– Official Transcript
– Answers to the following questions:
1. Describe any activities or community services which you are/were a participant.
2. Why did you choose to pursue a major in social work or a related field?
3. Briefly explain your intended career objective.

Application Deadline:
October 18, 2019, 4:00 pm ChST.
All applications must be dropped off at the UOG Endowment Foundation office.

Micronesian Studies Scholarship Award

Background Information:
The primary purpose of the fund is to provide annual scholarships to one or more students admitted to the Micronesian Studies Master of Arts Program at the University of Guam.

Award Amount: 
$500 

Eligibility Requirements: 
Applicant must be a full-time graduate student admitted in the Micronesian Studies Program. Applicant must be a resident of Guam, the Freely Associated State (Republic of the Marshall Islands; Federated States of Micronesia; Republic of Palau), or the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands., and intend to work and stay on Guam after completing their degree. Must have a minimum GPA  of 2.5, and maintain that average throughout the scholarship period.

– Three (3) letters of recommendations
– Answers to the following questions:
1. Describe any activities or community services which you are/were a participant.
2. What is your chosen course of study? Why?
3. Briefly explain your intended career objective.

Application Deadline:
October 25, 2019, 4:00 pm ChST.
All applications must be dropped off at the UOG Endowment Foundation office.
