24 University of Guam Students Awarded Endowment Foundation Scholarships

The University of Guam Endowment Foundation proudly hosted a scholarship presentation ceremony on October 25, 2024 at the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences Lecture Hall in the Tan Lam Pek Kim English and Communication Building. 15 privately funded scholarships were awarded to 24 University of Guam students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Senior Vice President & Provost Sharleen Q. Santos-Bamba, Ph.D. expressed, “Scholarships play a crucial role in making higher education accessible and affordable for students at the University of Guam. They alleviate the financial burden of tuition and related expenses, allowing students to focus on their studies rather than financial stress. By providing essential support, scholarships help reduce student loan debt and enable a diverse range of individuals to pursue their academic and career goals.”

The ceremony highlighted the importance of donor involvement, which not only helps individual students but also enriches the entire educational community. SVPP Santos-Bamba added, “Donors play a crucial role in this effort, creating opportunities for students who might otherwise struggle to afford college. Their contributions not only support individual futures but also enhance the educational community, fostering a more diverse and skilled workforce that benefits society. Together, scholarships and donor generosity empower students at the University of Guam to complete their degrees and realize their potential.”
